Art may have been a temporary facade in the history of human development. Although we have artifacts from previous civlizations that hold 'value' we do not consider them art in themselves. Many old works of art are now bordering on being of archeological signficance, being historic relics rather than views into the world of the artist. With each historic event that propels us away from the past the words of the author grow dimmer, until we no longer can glean what may have been meant - at this point we no longer have art.

I would like to hear more about what Nicholas thinks about the 30's depression era art market.

I am a sculptor specializing in monumental, inspirational works. I am just now completing a contemporary, tall streaming Statue of Liberty for the new era. I am just now coming off an installation at the world famous Burning Man festival, held manually on a flat, arid desert playa.

The event is characterized by its eccentric, art loving artists and their admirors...
Please flag me, Nicholas, if you can share your views on how such a market would fair in a financial crunch.
