Art Market Blog Progress Report for January 2008
Well, January has been another huge month for myself, the art market and the Art Market Blog so I thought that I would share some of the events that have made January such an exciting month. In January 2008 I:
-Continued preparing for the launch of a major new project that is going to be absolutely huge and will definitely get the art world talking. I have been trying to think of hint as to what the project will involve without giving anything so here is my hint: Look to the stars and find the brightest. Intriguing huh…
-Made an effort towards fulfilling my new years resolution which was to become more involved in the lcoal (Sydney, Australia) art scene. Having been recently named as the Australian correspondent for the New Art TV (http://www.newarttv.com) will certainly help me to fulfill my new years resolution. If you know of any good exhibitions in Sydney, Australia that would are worth filming let me know.
-Purchased a work by the awesome artist Rikrit Tiravanija
-Recorded a radio interview with a major US investment/business radion program on the subject of Eli Broad’s decision to lend his collection to museums and galleries instead of donating it. I will let you all know when the interview will be airing and should be able to post the interview on the blog once it has aired. If you want my opinion on anything to do with art and the art market for radio, television, print or web, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact me via the blog.
-Turned a year older
-Began trying to figure out a way to get Tim Hawkinson to donate one his artworks to me (no luck so far)
-Worked on making my facebook profile a little bit more exciting. You can become one of my facebook friends here: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=523198721
-Made good progress on the book I am writing which, funnily enough, has something to do with art.
-Began installing my new gallery hanging system in my bedroom
February looks like another hectic month so I will provide another progress report at the beginning of March.
